Sýn á Akureyri –Views of Akureyri

Sýn á Akureyri –Views of Akureyri is a walk and a series of digital drawings that consider how views are constructed in this small city in the north of Iceland. The drawings depict views of a winter city in which the perception of architecture has been transformed and erased by weather conditions. During the walk, an exploration is taken on how the city has seen itself, its surroundings, and the outside world, over time.

On the afternoon of April 27th residents and visitors of Akureyri were invited to participate in a group walk of the city. During the walk, an exploration was taken on how the city has seen itself, its surroundings, and the outside world, over time. 
At pre-arranged stops in the historic centre, different moments in the city's history were presented and discussed. An accompanying website, made available to the participants, illustrated the different histories of the city that were explored.
